‘School’s Out’ a Practice Manual for Childcare Providers

‘School’s Out’ a Practice Manual for Childcare Providers was produced by Limerick City Childcare Committee in conjunction with North Tipperary Childcare Committee and County Limerick Childcare Committee.

The purpose of the manual and the accompanying video/d.v.d. is to assist Childcare Providers to become more effective in planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of activities for children aged 4-12 years.

The manual consists of eight sections laid out as follows:

• Components of Best Practice
• Child Development
• The School Age Childcare Environment
• Risk Assessment
• Planning and Implementation
• Evaluation and Assessment
• Appendices (Policies & Procedures/ Relevant Legalisation)
